Terms of service
The house rules.
Last updated November 4, 2026
The short version. Ambag helps you keep track of shared bills and your own budget. It never sends, holds or receives money. Debts between you and your friends are between you and your friends. Ambag Pro is billed by Apple and renews until you cancel it in iOS Settings.
These terms cover the Ambag iPhone app and getambag.app (together, "Ambag"). By creating an account or using Ambag, you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Ambag.
1. What Ambag is, and isn't
Ambag is a record-keeping tool. It lets you log group expenses, split them, mark them paid, keep receipts and proof, and track your personal money.
- Ambag doesn't move money. It isn't a bank, e-wallet, payment service or lender. Payments happen outside Ambag, through GCash, Maya, your bank, cash or however you choose.
- "Paid" is a record, not a transfer. When someone taps "I paid" or attaches a screenshot, Ambag records what they say. We don't check that money actually changed hands.
- We're not part of your debts. Amounts owed between users, including group shares and utang, are agreements between those users. Ambag isn't responsible for collecting them, for unpaid or disputed amounts, or for payments sent to the wrong account.
- Not financial advice. Budgets, projections and exchange rates are there to help you plan. Exchange rates come from a third party and may differ from what your bank or card charges.
2. Your account
- You need to be at least 13 to use Ambag. If you're under 18, use it with a parent or guardian's permission.
- Give accurate information and keep your sign-in secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person per account. Don't sign up as someone else or use someone's email without their permission.
3. Using Ambag fairly
Don't use Ambag to:
- harass, shame or threaten people, including through reminders or invites,
- add people's emails without a real reason to split with them, or send spam,
- upload fake proof of payment, or content that's illegal or that you don't have the right to share,
- scam people, launder money, or do anything illegal,
- break, overload, scrape or get around the app's security or plan limits.
We can limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
4. Your content
What you put in Ambag (expenses, photos, notes) stays yours. You let us store, process and show it to the people it's shared with, only to run Ambag. Group records are shared with that group. Some of them stay after you leave or delete your account, so everyone else's balances still add up. The privacy policy has the details.
5. Ambag Pro
- Price: ₱169 a month or ₱1,290 a year in the Philippines. Prices in other countries are set by the App Store, and taxes may apply.
- Free trial: the yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, you'll be charged for the year.
- Billed by Apple: payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
- Auto-renewal: your subscription renews automatically at the same price and length unless you turn it off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple charges the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancelling: on your iPhone, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Ambag Pro. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your Ambag account doesn't cancel the subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds ourselves.
- After Pro ends, your data stays. Anything over the Free limits is kept but locked until you upgrade again.
We may change what's in Free or Pro, or the prices. Price changes for existing subscribers follow Apple's rules, which include notifying you first.
6. Our app
The Ambag name, logo and app belong to us. You can use the app for your personal use, but you can't copy, resell or reverse-engineer it. Apple isn't responsible for Ambag or its support. Apple's standard terms for apps (the Licensed Application End User License Agreement) also apply to the iPhone app.
7. No guarantees
We work hard to keep Ambag accurate and available, but it's provided "as is". We can't promise it will always work, be error-free, or never lose data. Double-check important amounts.
8. Limits on our responsibility
To the extent the law allows, Ambag isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by debts or payments between users, wrong payment details, third-party services (Apple, Google, GCash, Maya, banks, exchange-rate providers), or things outside our reasonable control. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Ambag Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under Philippine consumer law that can't be waived.
9. Ending your account
You can stop using Ambag and delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. Remember to cancel Pro in iOS Settings, too. We may close accounts that break these terms or that the law requires us to close.
10. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and, for big changes, tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using Ambag after that, you accept the new terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
